What You Should Know Before Buying:

The shower screen optimizes water flow, but it's not a substitute for fresh beans or a good grinder. The IMS screen really shines when you upgrade to a single-walled screen like the KM 51mm Screen. With the original double-walled screens ("crema screens"), the taste difference is minimal.

The membrane is delicate by design. Clean the screen only with soft brushes or a cloth. Sharp objects will destroy the fine mesh immediately.

Installation and Care:

Installation isn't rocket science, but it does require a bit of finesse:

1. Loosen the Screw: Turn the DeLonghi upside down or use a short angled screwdriver.
2. Be Careful When Removing: The old screen often sticks. A gentle lever with a spoon handle helps.
3. Clean: Since you have the screen off, wipe down the brew group with a damp cloth.
4. Installation: Insert the IMS screen and tighten the screw by hand. Don't over-tighten! If you tighten the screw too much, the screen will warp and water distribution will suffer again. Hand-tight is all you need.

We recommend a short backflush after each shot to rinse out residue. Since backflushing is barely possible with the Dedica, you should unscrew the screen every two weeks and clean it in hot water with espresso machine cleaner. You'll be surprised how much residue accumulates behind it despite daily rinsing.

Why Are There Small Notches Visible at the Edge of the Shower Screen?

The notches marked in the image at the edge are caused by manufacturing and are normal for this shower screen. They do not represent damage and have no impact on the product's function or durability.
